Our History

Our History

Our history dates back to the year 2000, when we acquired a farm of 25 hectares within the tropical rainforest of the Upper Amazon, most of the territory was degraded and deforested, where there was only grassland, sugar cane and naranjilla crops - which are the basis of the economy of the sector-; however, it retained (and still exists) a remnant of 5 hectares of primary forest crossed by the headwaters of the Arajuno River. In this sense, and taking into account the interest of recovering the vitality and biodiversity of the area, we decided to contribute to the solution of environmental and socio-cultural problems, starting with reforestation and new agricultural production practices. Throughout these 18 years, we have personally planted approximately 3500 trees, and provided the necessary maintenance so that they can develop without major problems.

Transforming into a forest

Oropéndola, with time, dedication and care, has been regenerating and transforming into a current forest, to which, consequently, native fauna began to arrive. Oropéndola consists of 25 total hectares in which it has been possible to observe a great variety of species including mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, arachnids, plants and fungi with a record of endangered species. However, we are still in the long process of identifying and inventorying all the flora and fauna of the site.

It promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of the natural features of the environment, with conservation practices and sustainable management of resources.
